Portrait of Inara from TV series Firefly.
Pencil

Her face reminded me of da Vinci's sketch la scapigliata, so I decided to play around and see if I could learn a little something from the master.

As an aspiring artist, I'm always interested in constructive critisism, so feel free to comment.

Its amazing!!! I really like this one. You've got the shading down to a T! Definately looks like she's having a bitter sweet memory ^_^

Thanks - nice of you to say!
Beautiful! The first thing I thought when I saw the thumbnail was "oh it's Inara in a da Vinci-sketch-style!" and low and behold...it was!

I love this piece, particularly the way you hinted at her hair that draws all the attention back to her face.

Thanks! I had been looking through some of my art books, and came across some da Vinci things, and remebered an screen-shot of Inara that reminded me of the da Vinci sketch. Thanks so much for commenting!

Simply enchanting! You really capture Inara's beauty and elegance
Thank you! Her beauty just makes her easier to draw, I think. ;)
Im not sure what to say about it, or what kind of critique to leave. I really love the sketchiness that picks up on D Vinci's style, but added much ore emphasis and strength to the emphasis of the face. Id say only way to improve it and give any more of the old world feel would be to stick it up in PS and add a sepia tone to it. Very lovely...
